Ancient Hebrew Lore - CD Lyrics

Ancient Hebrew Lore
Come gather round my friends
Hear the Ancient Hebrew Lore
Just open your hearts
Let the words flow in
The Soul of the Hebrews
Speaks deep down within you
You can trust my friends
Let the words flow in

This we know
Long ago
We were slaves
In Egypt Land
Life grew grim
But we were saved
We crossed the sea
And we were free

Moses gave the law
And we did agree
As we traveled
In holy harmony
We took our promised land
With our mighty warriors
And lived our days
In our sacred ways

A 1000 years passed
In our holy land
Then dragged away
We went astray
And so its been
Just Lore to us
But now we're glad
To hear what is us

Open Your Hand Psalm 145:16
Poseach ess yaw de chawe
Ooo masbeah l'chol chai ratzon
Poseach ess yaw de chawe
Oo masbeah l'chol chai ratzon

King David of Ancient Lore
Pointed the way to go
Think with strong feelings
And surely it'll be so

You open Your hand
And fulfill the will
Of every living being
So listen up
And hear these words
Guard the feelings of your heart
Cause G-d knows them one and all
And fulfills them from the start

Oy Vay Blues
Brothers and Sisters
Gather round me
Listen how we've lived our lives as Jews
We've been down there
All around down there
Lord, we got them Oy Vay Blues

Went down to Egypt
As Pharoh's honored guests
Oh Lord we paid our dues
We worked so hard down there
As slaves to Pharoh
Lord, we got them Oy Vah blues

Why won't you show us
Why won't you tell us
We want to live as Jews
If you'd just show us
If you'd just tell us
We'll follow after you

Then to our promised land
We went our sacred ways
And lived our lives as Jews
As the days and years passed by
We forgot all what you said
Lord we got them oy vay blues

We went from land to land
Hoping to hear from you
And lived our lives as Jews
But as time passed by
We slowly lost our way
And we got them oy vah blues.

As we come home again
Looking to hear from You
And living our lives as Jews
But much to our surprise
We havn't heard from You
And we still got them oy vay blues.

Baal Shem Tov Blues
I've got the Baal Shem Tov Blues
What more can I do
I've got the Baal Shem Tov Blues
Trying to spread the word to you

Got them in the morning
Got them in the evening
Got them all day long
Lord, I've got the Baal Shem Tov Blues

His dad died when he was five
And the last words he said to him
Son, you've got a very holy soul
Don't fear anything but Hashem

So he grew up as an orphan to his teens
Without a home or family
Wondering through the fields and wood
Without a fear of anything

And so the stories say
He grew holier everyday
Leading his flock with miracles
Towards our holy King Moshiach

So the Baal Shem Tov says
Brothers and sisters listen to me
You too have very holy souls
So live your life joyously

So listen
Tell your friends and family
You too have very holy souls
So live your lives joyously

Evdoo Es Hashem Bisimcha (Psalm 100:2)

Serve the Lord with a joyful attitude

Feeling Good
Feeling good is how we know
When we're thinking good
And feeling bad is how we know
When we're thinking bad
Brothers and sisters hear me
You get what you're feeling
Good or bad
So it be

Think good and it will surely be good
The Rebbe says
Tracht Goot V'Zicher Zein Goot
The Rebbe says
So when you're feeling good
Look for the good
You'll surely get it
The Rebbe says

This and that making us feel so sad
Things all around making us feel so bad
Please hear me when I say
Turn your attention another away
Till you're feeling good
It's the way

Listen to your heart
Its connected to your soul
It knows what you want
And guides you to your goal
Please hear me when I say
Think your dreams in every way
So you're feeling good
It's the way

Tracht Goot V'Zicher Zicher zein Goot
Tracht Goot V'Zicher Zicher zein Goot
Think good and it will surely surely be good

Mezuzah Man
Standing by our side
An ally is what we all need
Travelling through our lives
A sign for you and me to read
Mezuzah at our door
There for all to see

He wears it on his sleeve
He speaks it from his heart
He tells all he meets
He's come to do his part
Mezuzah at every door
Is where we're going to start

The Mezuzah man
The Mezuzah Man has come

Our Holy Torah says
Write them on the doorposts of your house
These handwritten parchments
Protect your coming in and going out
Mezuzah at every door
Without a Jew left out

So spread the word
Tell your friends and family
Let's all get together
That's what we truly need
Mezuzah at every door
Joins us to our soul family

Write Them On The Doorpost Of Your House (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)
Ooo Chsav Tum al mezuzos baysecha oo ve shawrecha
And you shall write them on the doorpost of you house and upon your gates

Mezuzah Jew
So now we know
Just where we've been
And how we've reached
The place we're in
So what to do
And how and when
Is all there's left
To know my friends

The past is gone
We're in the now
Just feeling good
As we know how
We're here to help
And shine G-d's ray
So others too
Can find their way

Brothers and sisters
The time has come
To join together
And act as one
Just hang a Mezuzah
On your door too
It's G-d's command
Be a Mezuzah Jew

The Baal Shem Tov
Came to say
Live your life I
n a joyfull way
Our Souls do guide
Our hearts to feel
The Torah ways
Our Soul's they heal

Telling Besht tales
And singing these tunes
And expecting King Moshiach
Will be here soon
And living our lives
With joyful attitudes
Let's all join together
As Mezuzah Jews
